  • "I got an ex-friend fired from their job"

I was friends with this person for about 2 years before the incident happened. I don't want to go into too much detail because I'm not sure what's allowed in this sub, but it involved an inappropriate interaction between this person's romantic partner and I. I tried to have a calm conversation about it with the person in question, but instead of taking accountability and apologizing, they blew up at me and said I was "acting like a victim" and that I was trying to "expose" them. Then they
  • blocked me on everything and told me never to message them again. I was honestly stunned. This person has a pretty big online following, so I guess they were worried I was going to call them out publicly or something. That would explain why they got so defensive. But I never had any intention of doing that. If they had just been willing to talk about it one on one, we probably would have been able to work things
  • out. The fact that they were willing to throw away a friendship so easily really stung. It took a while for me to fully process it, and in doing so I realized all the smaller things that had happened over the years. Looking back, they had been a me the whole time. friend to

  • But anyways, onto the revenge. For a while, I thought about exposing them online. But then I would be stooping down to their level, and I didn't have any proof of what had happened, so that idea was out the window. Then I realized I could get to them in another way. A while back, they had sold me a laptop from the company they worked at that had been decommissioned. In the process, they told me all about their illegal side business. The
  • company would give them old laptops to dispose of, but instead of throwing them away they would wipe them clean and sell them for several hundred dollars apiece. I found their profile on Linkedln and eventually found the email of their CEO. I sent her an email explaining exactly what this person was doing with the laptops. I didn't hear anything for
  • a few weeks, until one day I got an email from another employee asking for more details. I answered all their questions and didn't hear anything for a while. Then I started getting tons of messages from the person who had blocked me, cussing me out and saying all kinds of nasty things.

  • Apparently they had been fired from their job. I don't feel very bad about it because they clearly have a lot of money to fall back on. Hopefully they can find another job soon. They might just have to take a few less vacations every month.
  • ElectricalFocus560 It always amazes me how many awful and illegal things we learn about family or friends BECAUSE they tell you. I have a family member who is a law school professor who has done or advised others to commit fraud and illegal things as well as immoral stuff. How do I know? They told me all the details.
  • OkStrength5245 I gave a course last year about the fiscal aspect of a trade. The workers in training took it lightly, like they would fraud and never get caught. I didn't throw at their face that fiscal controller have far more means and education than them. In place, I remember them the old adage: two people can keep a secret if one of them is de_d.

  • 1quirky1 Did the company name you? BoysenberryKook... OP I have no idea. Even if they didn't, it probably wasn't hard to figure out I was the one who reported them.
  • Special-Original-215 Sound more like AITA instead of revenge BoysenberryKooky7185 OP I don't think I'm the a h le Bugs915 You're NOT the AH, you did the right thing. As a business owner, I would be happy if someone let me know about things going on that shouldn't be.
  • Enough_Window_8213 No way...karma is a itch! That guy deserved to be fired as he committed the offences. Why doesn't he own what he did? Guess his bosses didn't want him around anymore so he got what he deserved! Play stupid games...win stupid prizes! joey_wes His? I totally read this as two highly strung middle aged white women, wine o'clock types! BoysenberryKooky7185 OP I'm being intentionally vague. If it helps, I'm a 20 year old male.
